USB 2.0 Hi-Speed Isolator withstands up to 2. the ICD2 was going to be a great solution for me (small, portable, powered off the USB, etc.). This product is capable of transmitting USB Hi-Speed (480 MBit/s) while providing full galvanic isolation of both the data and the power lines. ![]() Man, that isolated hub is expensive - 4 times more than the ICD2! Sigh. I want to have the USB connection isolated (as recommended in the advisory reference above) in all situations, just so I don't have to worry about the ground potential issues in each different situation I happen to be in (basically, just do it all the time so I don't accidently blow up the ICD2 if I screw up on ground setup). ![]() In different situations I may need to power the target board itself (and provide power to the ICD2 from the target), or power the ICD2 from a computer USB port, or power the ICD2 directly. The JCAT USB Isolator blocks all noise coming from a PC and re-generates clean USB signal from scratch.
